Parliamentary Politics, Proven to be Inefficient for Baloch Problems

09.06.2008

For the first time in Balochistan history, a Baloch leader Nawab Mohammed Aslam Khan Raisani was elected as a Chief Minister of Balochistan without any opposition. Sardar Yar Mohammed Rind only one of the assembly member who is sitting in the opposition bench. Governor of Balochistan, Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magasi, also a Baloch himself.

Chief Minister of Balochistan has full support of all assembly members along with the central government (Islamabad) backing because he belongs to the Pakistan’s ruling party if Baloch problems still remain unresolved, perhaps than it will never be resolved through the Pakistani parliament.

Balochistan carried a painful parliamentary history because National Awami Party government during 1972 showed a very bleak picture while Sardar Attaullah Mengal was Chief Minister and Mir Ghoz Bakhsh Bizenjo was the governor of Balochistan. Unfortunately they could not achieve Baloch rights. Similarly, while Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti was governor and chief minister of Balochistan he was also unable to succeed through parliamentary politics, that’s why he ended up in the mountains where he fought his last battle for Baloch rights.

If the Baloch rights had been given through parliament than during 1990 elections martyred Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti former leader of the Jamhoori Watan Party that won 13 Balochistan provincial assembly seats still Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti was unable to achieve the Baloch rights.

In 1998 martyred (Shahaeed –e- Watan) Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, Nawab Khair Baksh Marri, Sardar Attaullah Mengal, and Dr. Abdul Hai Baloch all prominent Baloch leaders gathered under one umbrella, they had chosen Sardar Akhtar Mengal to be a Chief Minister of Balochistan but still they failed to achieve the Baloch’s rights.

Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali a (Baloch) was prime minister of Pakistan Baloch did not see their legitimate rights. Sardar Farooq Ahmad Khan Leghari another (Baloch) was president of Pakistan in his presidency period Baloch expected their rights but had seen nothing. Presently, Asif Ali Zardari is also a Baloch he is the leader of Pakistani ruling party who enjoys the full support of all major Pakistani political parties leaderships such as Nawaz Sharif, Asfandyar Wali Khan, Moullana Fazul Rehman and Altaf Hussain. In such a favorable political environment if the present Chief Minister and Governor of Balochistan both are unable to resolve the problem of Balochistan than it will be the saddest movement for Baloch people.

The analysts are telling me there is very little chance for the Baloch to expect their problems to be resolved through this parliamentary system. Now, the only way Baloch

Problems will be resolved, is through resistance movements of Baloch nation. Therefore,

They know very well if they show any weakness than Baloch nation will not rises as a strong nation because the universal natural law has no mercy upon weak people.

In this world, the only nations that survive are the ones who believe in a collective struggle for their national identity, killing never destroys that nation.  But a nation can be destroyed by their incompetence and disunity; any nation survival is always depending upon their strong leadership.  Their leaderships have to prove themselves as the saying goes; a single day of lion life is equivalent to a hundred years of cowards’ life. Then there are no powers that can defeat such a nation.
