Do Baloch have a dream?

02.07.2005

By: Anwar Noor Baloch

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character. "

The above great words said by Martin Luther King in his speech "I have a dream" in 1963. Do we Baloch also have such dream? If we have how true it can be? Or how we can make it true? If we don’t have such how we will be called a great nation? How can we be freed? How can we make and put lights for new generation?

I don’t think we can be called a great nation unless we don’t get united, and we never get united unless we don’t judge by the content of character rather than the colour of skin. I am very much certain that the current experience of Balochistan is well known and well understood by every one, the solution is only the unification. The offer of Mohd Akbar Khan Bugti of JWP has welcomed by many Baloch, but unfortunately some political leaders have not welcomed it, it’s a talk of upset, and a shock of shocks. We most have read the feedback, but the negative feedback of Dr. Hayee Baloch of NP and Ataulla Mengal of BNP (M), which showed, they are not interested in such offer. What can be the reason? How they can be nationalists and great politicians, who don’t take the advantage of the situation? What can be their dream? Do they have intention of sacrificing their self-interest for the good of deprived nation, or they do the opposite taking advantage of nation’s interests for their own good. If there are any differences between Mohd Akbar Khan Bugti and the mentioned leaders it should be discussed and come to the positive conclusions.

Unity is Power, why not create and have such power in us. God, also lead us for unity in his holy Quran who said in Sura Al Maida, Verses No. (2) " Wa taawano ala albire wa taqwa". Translated as "Help you one another in virtue, righteousness and pity"

Of course, we have a dream, without dream life is incomplete. As we Baloch are very deprived from the day one, so our dream must be cleared and well highlighted otherwise it will be hard to make a journey of thousands of millions of miles.

It is a time for a great leader to come up and set examples for showing determination, displaying extraordinary talents, taking risks, creating in followers a sense of a joint mission, dealing with crises, using radical solutions, and engendering faith in others.
