QUETTA: Two security personnel were killed and five others injured in a rocket attack and bomb explosion in Jaffarabad and Bolan districts on Sunday.
Baloch Republican Army spokesman Sarbaz Baloch claimed responsibility for both incidents.
According to police sources, a bomb exploded under a Frontier Corps vehicle as it was patrolling in the Sobatpur area of Jaffarabad district, resulting in the death of a soldier and injuries to two other FC men.
‘It was a remote control bomb planted at the roadside,’ a senior police officer said, adding that vehicle blown up in the powerful explosion.
In another incident on Sunday a police officer was killed and three others injured when a rocket was fired on their vehicle on the Quetta-Sibi road near Gokurt area of Bolan district.
Sources said armed men targeted the vehicle from nearby mountains while it was patrolling on the main highway.
