QUETTA: Unknown assailants gunned down a pro-government elder of the Bugti tribe’s Masoori Bugti clan near Nutal area of Dera Murad Jamali on Tuesday.
According to police sources, the assailants opened fire on Abdul Ghafar Masoori Bugti in Goth Shah Murad Bugti near Nutal, killing him on the spot.
Sources said the deceased had been a former commander of late Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti but later joined hand with the government.
Soon after the incident, police rushed to the site and moved the body to civil hospital Dera Murad Jamali. Police has registered a case against unknown people and further investigation was in progress.
However, a spokesman for the Baloch Republican Army (BRA), Sarbaz Baloch, calling from an unknown location, claimed the responsibility of the killing of Abdul Ghafar Masoori Bugti.
