ISLAMABAD: The government will take up all issues concerning Balochistan in parliament, President Asif Ali Zardari said on Saturday.
Addressing a meeting of politicians from Balochistan, he asked them to prepare recommendations in this regard within one month.
He said the Pakistan People’s Party would support proposals of the Balochistan Assembly in parliament to find an amicable solution of problems within the constitutional framework.
The president said he was aware of the sense of deprivation among the people of Balochistan, adding that the government would take steps to address the grievances of the people of Balochistan.
The president said he had decided to meet representatives of Balochistan to seek their recommendations to solve the issues facing the province.
The politicians from Balochistan highlighted problems such as unemployment, education, poverty and poor infrastructure.
Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani, Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi, PPP General Secretary Jehangir Badr, Adviser to Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik, Water and Power Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, Inter-Provincial Co-ordination Minister Mian Raza Rabbani, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr Babar Awan, Health Minister Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani and members of the Balochistan cabinet attended the meeting. app
