QUETTA: General Secretary of Balochistan National Party (Awami) woman wing Dr. Fauzia Marri has taken serious exception to distorting Baloch culture and traditions on the pretext of disloyalty as the vested interests had launched a massive propaganda against the Balochs only to undermine its struggle for national rights.
Speaking at a Press conference here on Tuesday, she said that vested interests had wrongly and mischievously targeted their Party President who merely upheld the Baloch traditions and not upheld the inhuman acts of certain individuals.
Marri who is also member of the Balochistan Assembly said that her party had never believed in discrimination on the basis of sex, race or religion and treated the people equally and dignified manner. She support all efforts ending the discriminatory to women and weaker sections of the society ending all negative customs and traditions giving them equal opportunities to develop their talents and economic potentials for survival. She demanded that the women should be given equal opportunities in the field of employment, seeking better jobs and economic opportunities.
Marri, disclosed that she had contributed Rs1.5 million towards the special fund created by the Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly, Aslam Bhootani for rehabilitation of the internally displaced persons. Responding to a question, she said that she demanded immediate rehabilitation of all internally displaced persons when she welcomed the Chief Minister on his elections as Leader of the House.
She deplored that no international aid agency or NGO had come to the aid of the internally displaced persons.
