Power supply Suspended in Mastung and Kalat

02.07.2008

QUETTA, July 1: Power supply to Mastung, Kalat and Quetta was suspended after a pylon of the 132-KV Quetta-Mastung transmission line in the Mianghundi area was blown up.

A spokesman for the Quetta Electric Supply Company (Qesco) said some people planted high explosives under the pylon and blew it up early in the morning. The Bomb Disposal Squad detonated a landmine near the explosion location during search.

The power supply was restored in Quetta, but remained suspended in other areas.
