Balochistan devises plan to encourage foreign investment: Jam

01.12.2004

QUETTA: The Balochistan government on Tuesday claimed to have devised a "comprehensive" policy to encourage foreign investment in the province under which all the desired facilities will be provided to investors. This would help increase the level of foreign investment in various sectors, particularly in mineral sector, said Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Muhammad Yousuf while presiding over a meeting here. He also reviewed the provision of facilities to a Chinese company engaged in the exploration and development of minerals at Dudhar area of district Lasbela. Jam said President Pervez Musharraf and PM Shaukat Aziz were keen to promote foreign investment in Balochistan and the provincial govt enjoyed full cooperation of the Centre in this regard. He added that the prime minister had directed for providing all possible facilities to the Chinese company working in the Dudhar field during his recent meeting with him. He said the Chinese company was making an investment of $72 million on the project.
