Throughout Baloch history regardless of by force domination through different rulers in the past and present, they (Baloch) always prove their emotional attachment and strong bond with their geography, territory, identity, culture, language, and literature. And from day one, they’ve been consistently struggling for their political and economical right.
In fact Baloch have resisted brutal and ruthless rulers, authoritarian and military for their own survival in their homeland till today. I believe Baloch nationalist leaders with their political forces are capable of achieving their autonomy and self-determination as long as they have the will. First, they have to prove themselves they are seriously committed, with bold leadership, trustworthiness, uncorrupt able leadership. Most of all follow the democratic rules while leading their political parties and include their members, supporters, views and opinions. Respect the masses wishes while going through any important decision making process through negotiation with the government. Otherwise, secret deals create mistrust and confusion among their supporters and masses. These types of deals have never been successful in the past, and neither may it work in the future. Therefore self interest, tribal interest, and party interest strongly should be discouraged and the top priority should be national interest as a whole.
In the 5th century BC Greek Philospher Helaclitus said. «You can never step in the same river twice." Because the cycle of betrayal will have negative consequences, now politically conscious Baloch masses are watching their all nationalist leaders move on Balochistan sensitive issues whether they are tribal chief or EX-BSO leaders whom are now with the different political parties playing an important role in Balochistan politics. Sadly to so say some of them have forgotten their long term goal. A political scientist Robert Jackson says, «Nationalism is often the highest form of allegiance, above church, class, tribe or other social group." Therefore, the real nationalist leaders always give first priority to their nation.
Since few Baloch intellectuals and writers recent analysis suggest that nationalist leaders should keep in their mind that they can only win the heart and mind of people, when they send a strong message to the government that they never compromise about Balochistan autonomy.
Since world is called global village, this is the responsibility of Baloch leaders, political parties, social activist, BSO (Baloch Student Organization) Baloch unity, Asaap and all aboard Baloch people included all of us to publicize Baloch and Balochistan grievances, nationally and internationally. This is a collective struggle and should be done collectively.
Rober Jackson says ”Nationalism is its modern sense is defined as the collective action of politically conscious group or nation in pursuit of increased territorial autonomy or sovereignty."
